An exploration into recreation is reimagined through habitable rooms. Leisure activities emerge in alternative spaces and take new forms.

Self-isolation and exclusion have created pockets of solitary activity. Collective events have been reduced to the single nucleus, a protective bubble encasing its situation.

A new way of working has emerged due the Covid-19. The production of labour is no longer the office or the factory. Our homes have become our new working quarters, with our private life entwined with our professional. A new form of working has brought the production of labour to the habitable room. Living and working coexisting in one entity – the home.

The weekly applause had created a collective room on the street of every town and city. By enclosing the street, new rooms for collective expression are formed from the comfort of each individual’s home. The street awaits its new spectacle.

A theatrical promenade takes place throughout the urban landscape. Inactive spaces are reimaged such as rooftops and gable walls. Balconies are adapted and retrofitted creating new boxes for the resident spectators. The play is no longer an isolated entity where immersive theatre is brought back into life through the city.

Online ordering and delivery has formed a new digital landscape. The rise of robots and artificial intelligence is changing technology where exhaustive amounts of data is needed to store information to ensure efficient delivery networks keeping the ounty going.

During the current pandemic, the built environment has been revaluated and critiqued in several ways. The quarantine period has forced people to reimagine and reuse the existing fabric through new emerging situations in turn presenting a new reading of the urban landscape.
